SHREK Jr THE MUSICAL | Friday 15th November
Our much-anticipated school musical will take the stage at the Racecourse Complex next Friday night, 15th November! This is a wonderful opportunity for our students to showcase their hard work and creativity. Under the dedicated guidance of Mrs Thomas, Miss Spalding and their incredible crew, our talented students have been rehearsing tirelessly. They have put in countless hours on costumes, sets, and, most importantly, perfecting their performances. We are so proud of their commitment and enthusiasm.
We warmly invite all parents, relatives, and community members to join us for this spectacular evening. It promises to be a memorable night filled with talent and teamwork, and we are eager to share it with you. We look forward to seeing you there next Friday night!
Class Teachers for 2025 | Recruitment efforts continue
As we prepare for the upcoming school year, I wanted to provide you with an update on our staffing for 2025. This week, we are actively interviewing teacher applicants and continuing our efforts to attract more suitable candidates for our teaching positions.
At this stage, we cannot finalise the class teachers for 2025 until we are fully staffed with seven classroom teachers. Currently, we are still seeking two qualified applicants to join our team. If you know of any suitable candidates, please encourage them to apply via SEEK. Your support in spreading the word is invaluable as we strive to find the best educators for our students. Thank you for your continued partnership in ensuring our school has the staff it needs to provide an exceptional learning environment.

The students are wishing to see Max the Monkey again however he has asked the students to complete a ‘Max document’ before he visits. Max’s task requires them to add a border, change the font type, colour and size as well as inserting a picture.
Let’s hope they can get their document completed.

PREP - Mrs Bernice McPhee
This term we are learning to write “procedural texts”. To make it more fun and memorable we have been making things to write our procedures about. In week 3 we made milkshakes, week 4 we were lucky to have Mr McPhee come in and help us cook pancakes and in Week 5 we made robots. This week we are making Fairy Bread.
We were lucky to have some furry/feathery visitors last week. Claire brought a duckling in to show us and let us have a little cuddle. Zandda brought in a guinea pig for us to cuddle also. Thank you to both these students and parents for sharing these special little animals with our class.
We continue to be very grateful for all the lovely fruit that is sent in for our fruit tray and also for the people who cut it up for us. We even had a dad cut up our fruit recently. Thank you so much!
Thank you to all the families who collect and bring in boxes for us to use to create amazing things. We are still happy to receive any that you may have. We would also like families to save “Plastic” bottle lids (soft drink bottle lids or milk or juice bottle lids) for us if you can.
Year 1 - Ms Susan Holloway
Hi everyone,
As usual, life has been very busy since our last Newsletter article.
The students are currently busy creating their information posters with topics ranging from capybaras to yoga. We are all excited to learn from each other's posters and are looking forward to completing them!
We have been exploring the history of toys in History and were interested to learn through our homework what toys our parents used to play with when they were children. We then created a toy timeline and were surprised to discover that some of the toys and games we play with today were created a long time ago!
Our toy timeline
Along with some interesting dogs, we had a lesson on hatching chickens. These fluffy little chicks created much discussion and were a highlight for the day.
Chickens galore
Sharing ideas during reading time
Stay safe everyone,

Fun and Learning in Action!
This month in Year 2 has been filled with exciting activities and valuable learning experiences!
Readers Theatre
Our students have been shining in Readers Theatre, where they’ve been bringing stories to life through performance. This engaging activity not only boosts their reading fluency but also enhances their confidence and teamwork skills. The joy on their faces as they perform is truly heartwarming!
Day for Daniel Activities
We also participated in Day for Daniel, a special event focused on safety and awareness. Our students took part in a Walk and Colour Run, promoting community spirit. It was a fantastic way to get everyone involved while reinforcing important safety messages.
Science Exploration
In science, we’ve been hard at work exploring the concepts of push and pull. Through hands-on experiments and interactive activities, students are discovering how these forces affect the world around them. We’re proud of their curiosity and enthusiasm!
We look forward to more adventures in learning!
Warm regards,
Imogen Hunt
